Wexted’s resident Wallaby Simon Poidevin writes for the AFR
Wallaby Legend and Wexted Advisor Simon Poidevin played 59 Tests for Australia, captaining his country four times. He is a feature writer for the AFR, and as a Grand Slam winner in 1984, is uniquely placed comment on the 2024 Spring Tour and the Wallaby ambitions to repeat the triumph of the 1984 Grand Slam team.
In his most recent article Ruby Union, Australia v England at Twickenham: Joseph-Aukuso Sua’ali’i is right to start for the Wallabies. Next up, Nathan Cleary Poido correctly predicted Joseph Aukuso Sua’ali’i starting against England was the right call:
Joseph Aukuso Sua’ali’I – probable 2024 legend
Everyone I’ve spoken to – from administrators to coaches and even to fellow players who could easily feel put out by an outsider being fast-tracked – says that at every step he has carried himself like a seasoned veteran

Simon has also stuck his neck out and made another bold prediction:
Whatever happens at Twickenham, I believe Sua’ali’i will succeed in rugby, and succeed fast. And that will lead to another major recruitment opportunity ahead of the 2027 Rugby World Cup – Nathan Cleary.

We will see whether that prediction bears fruit! Stay posted for more from Poido on the Spring Tour.
